Profile Ulrike Pröbstl is professor for landscape development, recreation and tourism at the BOKU - University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna (Austria) and director of the ”working group for land use planning - institute for ecological research” (AGL) in Polling (Germany). She has 19 years experience in the planning process in rural communities and of research, especially in alpine areas. She has a degree in landscape planning (equivalent to M. Sc.), is a landscape architect and urban planner and member of the Bavarian association of architects. She also has a PhD in “Forest Science” from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich. She had finished her habilitation in the field of landscape planning at the Technical University of Munich in 2000. From 2000 to 2003 she was associate professor and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich on "Recreation" and “Environmental Planning”. She has experience in several international projects as well as EU-projects (Interreg III B as coordinator and subcontractor). She is member of several international organisations (ISSRM, IUFRO), German and Austrian professional associations (SRL, BDLA, ÖGLA, UVP-Gesellschaft, etc.).
