OPENspace has received a highly commended award in the Landscape Institute Awards, Research Category for 2008 for the Open Space People Space book. The book offers a rare insight into people’s engagement with the outdoor environment and looks at the design of spaces and places intended to engage with people’s needs and desires in the twenty-first century. The judges commented on the high quality of entries for this category and the critical importance of research into areas related to landscape.‘for the profession to continually evolve and to maximise its future contribution to the built environment’.
The award ceremony was attended by Editors Professor Catharine Ward Thompson and Dr Penny Travlou.
